Operations Description The operations plan is essentially the same as set forth in the April 1, 1983 technical revision application, with the exception of pit extension into the thirty acre tract in Lease C-26914 and a shortening of the pits in the northwest portion of Area 60. The pit shortening was due to economic constraints on coal recovery related to faulting and pinching of the coal seam. BLM has made the required findings with regard to resource recovery. • The operation is in compliance with the requirements of this section. XV. Mine Facilities and XVI. Explosives The revision does not affect the above sections. XVII. Backfilling and Grading The revision affects post-mining topography in that mining will extend further to the southeast than previously approved and not as far to the northwest. Post-mining slopes within the affected area will be no steeper and no longer than originally proposed in the April, 1983 technical revision. The operation is in compliance. XVIII. Bonding Since the revision does not entail a larger surface disturbance or increased overburden yardage, the reclamation bond amount is not affected. The operation is in compliance. XIX.
