required in the referenced section of Colorado Regulations
(2.04.3), "existing, premining, environmental resources" were
identified and shown on Figure 4.1-1. thereby describing "pre-
sent" or premining land use. Figure 4.5-1 identified an area
that at some point in the past was used for agricultural pur-
poses and is not in conflict with Figure 4.1-1. It must also
be noted that the indicated agricultural area in Figure 4.5-1
is shown outside of the permit and mine plan areas and is
located in an area that will not be affected or impacted by
either the underground mining activities or activities conducted
on the surface of the land. No changes were made to the text
relative to this comment.
The requested narrative description on the capability and
productivity of the areas affected by surface operations and
facilities remains as part of Sections 4.4 (Soils) and 9.5
(Vegetation) with potential production--forage provided in
Table 4.4-3. Section 4.1.2.3 has been rewritten as requested
to address the potential for uses other than that proposed in
post-mining land use plans for the areas affected by surface
operations and facilities (approximately 5 acres).
2.04.4
All questions and requested information have been provided
in Appendix J and in Section 4.1.3 of the text. Supplemental
information has now been provided relative to later historic
periods and sample selection procedures employed.
