3. Noise, dust, etc. pollution. A dust and noise abatement plan and resources need to be in place
to keep to an absolute minimum these and other pollutants from not just the mine but from
the mine haul road and trucks. It appeazs the mine haul road will pass within 200-400 yards
of residents.
4. Potential residential damages. The mine permit area encompasses areas directly beneath
private homes and wells. A plan and resources need to be in place to deal with housing
and/or well damage as a result of the close proximity of the mine. The plan needs to include
provisions incase the damage occurs even many years after the mine closes. If the mining
company does not plan to mine under aresidence/well, then it seems reasonable these areas
should not be in the mine permit azea and the permit area boundazies redrawn to reflect this.
5. The above mentioned plans, etc. should be included as part of the permit.
6. Meetings. Please keep all parties concerned updated on all meetings public as well as those
"private and unannounced". A small group of people do not represent the total spectrum of
concern. This email header contains the a-mail addresses of people I believe have an interest
in this matter, but this list is not all-inclusive. There are other people who live inclose
proximity to the proposed mine (such as H&H Farms) who may also have an interest. It
would be appreciated if any minutes, including copies of all documents/maps involved, of
"private unannounced" meetings would be emailed (reducing the burden on the mine
company) to all of the above in order to inform all those concerned. Even though a meeting is
private all information should be made public, to avoid the appearance of impropriety,
conflicting information, information passing by rumor etc. Please keep me informed as to
date time and place of all public meetings on this matter.
These reflect my concerns, and should not be construed as all inclusive nor reflect the views of others.
Sincerely yours,
Chazles Overton
11 /24/2006
