Reclamation Act of 1977.
C. The Coal Management Alternative
Under this alternative, the surface mineable Federal
foal underlying the lands identified as the Little
Middle Creek area and the Fish Creek area would be
leased. Issuing coal leases on these lands would allow
all the recoverable surface mineable coal remaining in

this immediate area to be mined through an extension of
the existing mining operation and sequence. Including
the Fish Creek area in this proposed lease sale would

provide for the most efficient management of the
remaining surface mineable coal in this area. This
would alleviate the possibility of another by-pass
situation or need for a separate lease action on the
Fish Creek area.
