'. <br />Admittedly, the application lacks enough data on the seasonal <br />fluctuations in groundwater levels (especially in the Pit 2 vicinity <br />wells). However, as stated in Appendix C Page 61, "The nine new wells <br />that were installed late in 1980 will be monitored monthly for one year <br />(beginning with January 1981) to collect baseline data for the permit <br />application area." Since the application was submitted, five subsequent <br />months of water level data have been collected for both the Pit 1 and Pit <br />2 wells. This data is presented in Table 1. <br />The second concern is one of insufficient field quality parameters <br />tested for both surface and groundwater monitoring sites. Wyoming Fuel <br />Company will commit to monthly monitoring of water temperatures at each <br />site. However, we feel that field checking of samples for pH and electre <br />conductivity is not necessary if the samples are properly "iced down" <br />and quickly sent to the lab for analysis. <br />-20- <br />
