IC is clearly e`~idenL Lhat an intensive site-specific re- <br />search program over a period of several years lrould hr_ reguirerl to accurately <br />and reliably predict correlation beto-men h„I;itat and total po;,ulatton. <br />For this reason I recolnlnend that Colo':ryo Coal Company irlprove undisturbed sage <br />grouse nesting and brood reariny habitat in an anlounl equal to tha[ which ':/ill <br />be disturbed. This recolnlnendaCion is meant to include those lands disturbed <br />for the life of the project where appropriate. <br />This agency can provide specific Initigating techniques, and i offer our services <br />in the selection of techniques and lands to 4,e treated. 1 4•:ould also like to <br />point out that many other species are e;cpected to benefit from these actions <br />includiny both game and nonyame species. <br />]f you require additional information regarding this matter, please contact <br />dill Clark.
