SPOIL PILE 2 TO PIT 6 ,
:~ Overburden stockpile N.2 contains 195,000 yd3 (224,250 yd3 swelled) which will
.. be placed in pit 6. The haul distance from the center of the overburden stock-
• pile to the center of pit 6 is 1,600 feet. As previously mentioned, two
trucks and one front end Loader would be timed, with a haul distance of I,60D
feet, so that none of the equipment should have a waiting time.
With a cycle time of 6.6 minutes, two trucks would be able to make 15.2 cycles
per 50 minute work hour. At 40 LCY per load, 609 LCY of overburden could be
moved each hour. To move 229,250 LCY, it would take 369 hours.
A 7738 truck rents for 512,155 per month and has an hourly operating cost of
550.70 (page 20-10 BB). The area adjustment factor (page 20-3 BB) is 10X.
This would bring the monthly rental to 513,370.50. The opera tiny cost is con-
stant. Using a 21 day month and 8 hour working day, the hourly rental rate
for a 773 B truck would be 579.59. The total cost per hour would be 579.59 +
550.70 = $230.29.
A 9988 loader rents for 513,355 per month with an hourly operating cost of
$46.70 (page 9-45BB). The area adjustment factor (page 9-3BB) is lOX. This
would bring the monthly rental to 514,690.50. Usino a 22 day month and 8 hour
day, the hourly rental rate would be 587.44. The total cost per hour would be
5134.14.
As previously stated, it would take 369 hours to move the material from over-
burden stockpile N2 to pit 6. Using two trucks and one front-end loader, the
following costs for this portion of the reclamation operation are derived:

Spoil pile 1 contains 2, 150,000 LCY. A quantity of 1,599,083 LCY must be
moved into pit 6. The haul distance from the center of spoil pile 1 to the
center of pit 6 is 2,900 feet. As previously calculated, the cycle time for
a 7738 truck would be 7.6 minutes. Maximum use of equipment would be to use
2-7738 trucks and 1-9888 front-end loader. Since a 9888 loader takes 3.3
minutes to load each truck, the loader will be idle for a short period of
time until a truck arrives. Therefore, two loads of 40 LCY will be hauled
each 7.6 minutes. With this cycle time, each truck will complete 6.6 cycles
per 50 minute working hour. Therefore, two trucks would move 528 LCY of over-
burden per hour. At this rate, it would take 3,029 hours to complete this
portion of the operation. The cost breakdown, using the operation costs pre-
viously calculated would be:
