The applicant is Bowie Resources Limited (BRL) and the <br />new mine will be known as the Bowie No. 2 Mine. BRL currently <br />operates the Bowie Mine No. 1 (formerly the orchard Valley Mine) <br />north of the town of Paonia. The mine anticipates a maximum <br />production of two million tons per year out of the D-2 Seam <br />utilizing room and pillar technology. <br />I am circulating this memo to request help in reviewing the <br />application. I have attached a list with the various information <br />categories that I would like each of you to review. Your initials <br />are listed under the narrative column beside the area requested for <br />review. The following dates outline the completeness and review <br />schedule per Section 34-33-118(5) on the Act. <br />Completeness: February 23, 1996 <br />Preliminary Adequacy Review: April 23, 1996 <br />Decision Date: June 22, 1996 <br />Since we can now communicate electronically, I would like to <br />propose a format for any adequacy questions that can be easily <br />retrieved off of the M: drive and inserted directly into the PAR. <br />In other words, I would like to have any concerns that will require <br />additional input from the operator relayed to me in a form that can <br />placed directly into the master PAR. <br />For instance, each main section that is addressed in the <br />application (and any others that were not addressed and need to be) <br />will have a separate heading followed by discussion and requested <br />informatlon if necessary.
