Laboratorv Analvses
Samples collected at the soil pits ae currently being analyzed for
subsequent calculation of water holding capacity and bulk density.
When this information is available, it will be forwarded to the
Division.
Post Reclamation Measuring and Monitoring Plan
Upon completion of reclamation activities, representative samples of
the graded and placed topsoil, subsoil and colluvium, material will be
taken and analyzed for rock content, bulk density and water holding
capacity. Depending on the results of these analyses, appropriate
measures will be taken to restore these characteristics to their
pre-disturbance state where required. These measures may include
scarification, ripping, compaction, tilling or other measures to
restore bulk density and water holding capacity equivalent to
pre-disturbance conditions.
Adjacent Residences Waivers
Waivers from residences located within 300 feet of the permit area
will be forwarded to the Division under separate cover by Rick Chilton
of Terror Creek Company.
Disposal of Non-Coal Waste
Solid waste generated from the loadout activities, such as garbage
waste, rags and used paper products will be disposed of in trash
containers located at the scale house and control tower. A conscious
attempt will be made by all individuals at the loadout operation to
dispose of garbage material in the appropriate dump location. This
garbage will be hauled and deposited at the designated approved
landfill area in Delta County.
Frequency of removal will occur on an as needed basis. Particular
steps will be taken to keep non-coal waste materials in containers to
prevent wind from scattering the materials on the permit and adjacent
areas.
Deer Trail Ditch
The location of the Deer Trail Ditch is shown on the enclosed map,
Soils Map (Map 3). The Deer Trail Ditch is the sole source of
irrigation water for the Terror Creek Property. The water right
conists of 960 shares of Class II stock of the Deer Trail Ditch
Company. The water source for the Deer Trai 1 Ditch i s the Hubbard
Creek drainage of the North Fork of the Gunnison River Drainage Basin.
The location of Hubbard Creek is shown on the Regional
Geology/Hydrology Map (Map 2).
The Deer Trail Ditch provides irrigation water for the entire Terror
Creek property as well as to persons owning shares who live between
the Terror Creek Company site and Hubbard Creek to the east.
