Grace & Co. <br />47ashington Research Center <br />7379 Route 32 <br />Columbia, MD 21094 <br />WILDLIFE SUPPORT SERVICES: WORK SCOPE AND BUDGET <br />In response to your request for environmental support <br />services for the Hayden Gulch mine, the following brief <br />proposal has been developed to provide technical infor- <br />mation and field assistance concerning wildlife impacts <br />and mitigation. Based on your verbal directions, Cass, <br />much of this work has already been performed, particularly <br />regarding sharp-tailed grouse investigations. I would <br />appreciate your approval .of this proposal, with modifi- <br />cations if you have any, in the form of a purchase order <br />or any other manner convenient to you. <br />Technical Scope <br />o Literature survey of sharp-tailed grouse, cvith <br />emphasis on mating behavior, location of dance <br />grounds, wildlife management techniques, and <br />effects of land use. <br />o Preliminary review of mitigation techniques to <br />reduce or eliminate potential wildlife impacts <br />(emphasis on game species, particularly deer <br />and elk). <br />o Field support for Colorado Division of wildlife <br />inspection of rail spur, haul road alignment, <br />mine site visit, and other activities scheduled <br />Friday, July 29, 1977. <br />
