<br />~~, <br />~, <br />r] <br />Mr. Dean Massev <br />March 15, 1978 <br />Page Two <br />Section 717.14 hackfilling ant] Grading; of Road Cuts,' <br />Mine Entry Cuts, and Other Surface Work Areas - <br />CWI's basic reclamation plan has been set forth in <br />Exhibit E of the mine plan. The bench areas cai11 be topsoiled <br />and revegetated with a diverse and permanent vegetative cover <br />capable of sell-regeneration and plant succession. The mine <br />access road will remain as an access road to the benches. <br />Revegetative efforts have already begun on the cut and fill <br />areas <br />It should be pointed out that access road and bench <br />areas were in existence prior to the eFfective date of Part <br />717, therefore CWI views its rec].amaCion plan for. the mine <br />access road and bench areas as acceptable under Part 717.14. <br />Three maps nre attached: (plates 1, 2, and 3) which <br />depict the final reclamation contours. Buildings and mine <br />facilities will be removed and topsoil will be spread from <br />the topsoil stora};e pile:; which have been designated on the <br />final reclamation map. <br />Section 717.14 (d) Regrading or Stabilizing Rills and <br />Gullies - <br />CWI has experienced some erosion problems with <br />revegetation anti plans to fill or ot}~erwise stabilize and reseed <br />those areas which have experienced erosional problems. A <br />complete inventory will be done to determine the success rate <br />of past revegetation efforts. Stabilization of those areas <br />which have experienced erosional problems will begin as soon <br />as weather permits. <br />Section 717.14 (e) Using LJaste Material for Fill - <br />For 3 discussion of the mine spoil disposal area, <br />please see Section 717.15 below. <br />Section 717.15 Disl~nsal of Excess Rock and Earth Materials <br />nn Surface Areas - <br />As discussed on page D-19 in the mine plan, CWI <br />intends to create a surface disposal area for mine slioil. The <br />location of the refuse embankments is depicted on Plate 2 in <br />Exhibit G. The construction specifications for the waste <br />embankments arc i.n accordance with P'~iSA specifications $or benched <br />waste embankments. Attached for reference is Append}x ~ entitled <br />:VII~i ~~V.;i~~i~i:~ i. <br />
