-4-
Alluvial Vallev Floors
1. The tipple area is situated on 25-35 feet of fill. The text states that
this fill was installed to elevate the tipple facilities above the flood
plain. If this is the case a discussion of the tipple fill and removal should
be contained within the permit application. For a more detailed explanation
see the Alluvial Valley Floor section of the proposed findings.
2. Page 2.06-12 references 2 areas acknowledged as meeting the geomorphic
criteria of alluvial valley floors. The paragraph cites three areas. In
addition, pale 2.09-19 only references 2 areas. Please clarify.
3. The map does not identify, nor the text reference, Trout Creek downstream
of the confluence of Fish Creek as having unconsolidated streamlaid deposits
holding streams. It is probable that this area qualifies as an alluvial
valley floor. It needs to addressed.
4. Well 008-AW-3 is referred to as a shallow ground water well. From the
Longitudinal Stream Channel Cross-Section, Map 6 at Point B (which is located
at this well) it does not appear to be any different stratigraphically from
tiie rest of the stream channel alluvium. Some justification should be given
as to why this is a shallow ground water well and not an alluvial well. Well
logs should be submitted and water levels shown on tiie cross-section.
5. Page 2.06-15, the second paragraph appears to be referencing Middle Creek
and yet references Map 6 which contains Fish Creek stream channel
cross-sections. It is somewhat confusing and needs clarification.
6. Page 2.05-85 references Middle Creek regaining the natural level of
sediment. This should be Fish Creek.
/ph
Doc.
