The mLne <br />plan proposes that monitoring stations be constructed to measure any <br />subsidence which may occur over [he lease tract. <br />Evaluation of Cun~~tiance <br />At a yearly production rate of 150,000 tons/year, the sublease should be <br />mined within 3 to 4 years of: the dace of approval oC the mine plan. <br />The proposed mining method is the most economical and technically sound <br />method of mining the "E" scam. <br />T}~e subsidence monitoring plan, as submitted, will provide an adequate <br />chec}: on surface subsidence in the plan area and complies •.+ith the require- <br />ments of 30 CFR 7E4.20. tIo ground water has been encountered in the <br />Blue Ribbon i~fine and none is expected to be encountered in the plan area. <br />Sediment ponds and ditches to collect runoff from disturbed areas will be <br />constructed to protect the quality of surface waters. <br />Procedures for mine abandonment entails the removal of all buildings and <br />structures, cleaning oL debris, grading and revegatation. All reclamation <br />will occur when the mine closes and will involve a toCal of 20.42 acres, <br />which includes the portal bench, access roads, sediment ponds, coal stock <br />pile and trucl: scn.Le sites. <br />'Lhe mine will be sealed by filling all zntries to a minimum of 25 feet, <br />follo~.aed by the construction of a 6 inch cement wall for a final sea 1. <br />Summary of Compliance <br />The Blue Ribbon Mine reclamation mtd mining plan ce~nplies with the Mineral <br />Leasing Act and the 30 CFR 211 requirements.
