The tract ~.aill be developed via four main
entries, 18 Leet wide on 80 foot centers with cross cuts 18 feet wide
on 80 foot centers that ~:~ill divide the tract into two equal parts. A
total of six panr_ls will be developed (on the advance) with ].8 foot wide
entries and rooms and crosscuts on 80 foot centers ].caving 60 fuot square
pillars. llsi.ng secundacy methods, these pillars will be n;ined during
retreat to leave a configuration of 8 foot square pillars on 28 foot
centers. Sixty foot barrier pillars will. be left on the east, west, and
north sides of Lhc lease tract. 140 foot barrier pillars will separate
production areas from the main entries. A 150 foot barrier pillar will
separate production areas from the main entries on adjacent fee land
to Che south of the lease tract. between production panels, 60 foot
barrier pillars will be left.
The rate of production from the Blue Ribbon Minc has been variable, reach-
ing 89,373 cons in 1979, and 8v,485 tons from January through October 1980.
Production is estimated to increase to a ma:;imum of 150,000 tons/year by
1981 at which level the present coal reserves will he depleted in 1984.
The company projects t}~e recovery rate to be 92 percent within production
panels and 70 percent fur the lease tract.
Coal will be carried from the mine 67 conveyor, stoc}: piled, and then
screened before loading into trucks for shipment.
,1 list of major mining equipment follows:
Lee Norse Continuous Miner
Eimco Load-Haul Una[
Belt conveyor for coal haulage from mine
Roof bolter
Caterpillar 500 f;41 Generator
Euclid Front End Loader
Fairbanks-P1orse Portable Truck Scale
No subsidence has been observed over active portions of the Blue Ribbon
Plane.
