Rule 2.04.7 (4) (b)
The applicant should submit a revised map which shows the location of
all monitoring wells to be used in the proposed ground water monitoring
program. Currently, Map 9 does not show the location of the Fish Creek
aquifer wells, well 001-5-10, and well 006-82-38.
Rule 2.04.7(4)(f)
Map 9 shows a "Dewatering Well" in the southeast corner of Section 29.
The applicant should provide a description regardirx~ the proposed
function of this well. It is assumed that this well is completed in the
reclaimed spoils aquifer and will be used to intercept spoils water before
it reaches the proposed portal area. Zf this is the case, the applicant
should provide an estimate of expected pumping rates, expected water
quality, and a description of how the water will be handled and where
discharge will occur. The probable hydrologic consequences of the discharge
of this water should also be analyzed.
Rule 2.05.6(3) (b) (iii)
Table 8 should be modified to include the appropriate well data for the
Fish Creek alluvial aquifer wells.
The applicant should submit a proposal' to monitor water inflows into the
proposed mine workings. The proposal should include a plan to measure
the flow rates of the various inflows, a method to characterize the type
of inflows, and an inflow location map.
The applicant should revise the proposed ground water monitoring plan to
include quarterly submittal of collected data.
Rule 2.05.6(3) (b) (iv)
The applicant s?nuld revise his statement of "Probable Hydrologic
Consequences" to include an analysis of the potential effects on the
Fish Creek alluvial aquifer. This analysis should consider both water
quantity and quality impacts. Modeling techniques would be appropriate
to facilitiate this analysis.
/ep
cc: Jim Pendleton
Jerry Zimpfer
