Exhibit 2, attached, is entitled "Fruita Mines: <br />Plot Plan and Topo" and which shows the topographic features <br />and surface facilities in, adjacent and near to the Fruita <br />mines. The map scale is 1" = 200'. <br />4. Exhibit 3, attached, is entitled "Soils Map" <br />which shows the mapping of soils in the Fruita mines vicinity. <br />This map was prepared by Dir. Dan Champion, a certified soils <br />scientist, who is employed by the U.S. Department of Agri- <br />culture, Agriculture Research Service, in Grand Junction, <br />Colorado. <br />5. Exhibit 4, attached, is entitled "The Fruita <br />Mine - Vegetation Map" and which shows the mapping of vege- <br />tation types in, adjacent, or near to the Fruita mines. <br />6. Exhibit 5, attached, is a letter dated Septem- <br />ber 19, 1980 addressed to DCC from Emery Johnson, District <br />Conservationist and Clayton Spears, Soils Scientist of the <br />Soil Conservation Service, Grand Junction, Colorado. Attached <br />to this letter is a soils map and applicable soils descrip- <br />tions from the official SCS soil survey. This Exhibit des- <br />cribes the soil types and notes that there are no alluvial <br />soils within this tract and the exposed bedrock is a mixture <br />of sandstone and shale. <br />7. Exhibit 6, attached, is a letter, dated Septem- <br />ber 23, 1980, addressed to DCC from John G. Kennan, Ph.D., <br />Assistant Professor and Superintendent of Colorado State <br />University's Western Colorado Agricultural Research Center in <br />Grand Junction. This Exhibit describes the lack of historic <br />and potential use of the lands in, adjacent and near the <br />Fruita mines for agricultural crop lands. In addition, this <br />letter notes that there is no water supply which can be de- <br />veloped to irrigate the site nor is there any natural sub- <br />irrigation present. <br />8. Exhibit 7, attached, is a letter dated Septem- <br />ber 24, 1980 addressed to DCC from Robert A. Madsen, Area <br />Extension Director of Colorado State University's Tri-River <br />Area Cooperative Extension Service in Grand Junction, Colo- <br />rado. This Exhibit also describes the lack of historic and <br />potential use of these lands for agricultural crop lands. <br />
