Mr. Thomas Wainwright -5- December 8, 1982
the permit. From Exhibit 10-1, it appears that sampling points ware
located 1n areas which will be disturbed within the permit area, but
sampling points were also located within aspen and mixed brush types
approximately 1 mile south of the permit area in the southern
portion of the study area. Apparently, no sampling was done within
aspen types that will be disturbed. Please clarify this.
Rule 2 05 5(1)(a)(iv) - Post-Minino Land Use
The application does not contain detailed management plans to be
implemented following release of liability as required by Rule
2.05.5(1)(a)(iv). A discussion of how the reclaimed lands will be
managed 1n relation to adjacent grazing lands should be provided.
Projected stocking rates, fencing, roads (retained from the mining
operation), water developments and otrier range improvements which
will be implemented should be discussed.
Landowner comments regarding post-mining land use have not been
submitted.
To complete the application, the landowner comments must be
submitted.
Rule 2.05.6(3) - Protection of the Hvdrolooic Balance
The applicant has not provided a discussion of probable hydrologic
consequences for the haul road corridor.
The applicant should provide a brief paragraph discussing the
hydrologic effects of the activities in the haul road corcidoc.
Rule 2.06.8 - Alluvial Valley Floors
The alluvial valley floor information provided by the applicant was
limited to adjacent areas of Hubbereon Qulch and Dry Creek.
Adjacent areas of Sage Creek and areas in or adjacent to the haul
road corridor were not included.
The applicant should provide a reconnaissance level alluvial valley
floor investigation for Sage Creek and for areas in or adjacent to
the haul road corridor.
