A standard farm grain drill was used to drill
the seed. Drilling occured during ?Iay of 1975. Depth o`
planting was bet~reen 1/2 to 3/4 inch.
4. Fertilization
No requirements were placed upon Energy Fuels to
conduct a survey of the soil to determine the nutrient
content of the soils. This area has not been fertilized by
Energy Fuels.
5. Management of Reclaimed Area
Shortly after seeding, the entire area was fenced
in June of 1975 to exclude grazing animals. A standard
four-strand barbwire fence was constructed.
6. Successfulness of Seeded Stand
The recommended species and planting techniques
resulted in a good initial establishment of seeded species.
The oats matured quickly during the swnmer of 1975 and
provided an effective ground cover, minimizing erosion. ^he
perennial grasses developed slower, but by the fall of 1575,
Smooth IIrome and Intermediate ~^13~eatgrass were noticeable.
During the summer of 1976, all of the perennial species,
with the exception of Orchardgrass, appeared to be well
established.
a.
