C. Russell
CMLR
Page 4
July 24, 1981
2.06.8(3) 2. Water Availability
1. This is part of the Western Engineers report which will
also be supplemented by a clarification of "riparian
woodland" and "grassland" which was presented in the
vegetation survey. The majority of this data pertaining
to vegetation is complete.
3. Water Availability - Flood Irrigation
1. A consulting geologist and/or Western Engineers will
provide the data required for this section. Research
is in process.
2.10 MAPS AND PLANS
(3) All maps, plans and cross-sections are currently being
revised to make any necessary corrections and to include
a certification statement.
The above is the status of our response to your Adequacy Review letter.
Dorchester Coal Company, therefore, requests a 60-day continuance from the
date of this Status Report, in order that we may respond to your review letter
in a concise and complete manner. Some of the data, such as portions of the
additional hydrology data required may have to be supplied to CMLR in regards
to a stipulation. However, it is the intention of Dorchester Coal to obtain
a mining and reclamation permit with no or very few conditions or stipulations.
Sincerely,
~~ ~,
Darrel Hespe
Environmental Coordinator
DH:sh
CC: Acre
ENC
