2.05.4(2)(e){vii) This was addressed • ve. <br />2.06 <br />2.05.6 Mitigation of .Surface Coal Mining Operation Impacts <br />2.05.6(3)(b)(iii) Wyoming Fuel Company agrees that quarterly <br />monitoring is inappropriate for the North <br />Fork of Bolton Draw. It was agreed on July 17 <br />1981, that Wyoming Fuel Company would monitor <br />flows in North Bolton Draw during periods of <br />discharge. This discharge will normally occur <br />during spring runoff. <br />Requirements for Permits for Special Categories of Mining <br />2.06.8 Surface Coal Mining and Reclamation Operations on Areas, <br />or Adjacent to Areas, Including Alluvial Valley Floors <br />As requested by the CMLR staff, Wyoming Fuel Company <br />conducted additional alluvial valley floor mapping within <br />the North Fork of Bolton Draw in order to determine the <br />following: <br />1) Areas of alluvium containing active channels (by <br />OSM definition being at least 3 feet wide and 0.5 <br />feet deep at bankfull stage). <br />2) Areas having no active stream channels. <br />3) Areas in or adjacent to active stream channels which <br />are probably subirrigated (as evidenced by the <br />presence of subirrigated plant species, soil mottling, <br />etc.). <br />4) Acreage of areas containing active stream channels, <br />alluvium and areas of probable subirrigation. <br />5) Potential for flood irrigation on units of this size <br />in the North Park area. <br />Figure 3 of this Addendum is a map documenting items 1-4 <br />listed above, concerning additional alluvial valley floor <br />identification in the Pit 2 vicinity of the North Fork of <br />Bolton Draw. Holocene alluvium (Qal) has been previously <br />mapped in Main Bolton Draw in the configuration shown on <br />both the Geologic Map (Exhibit C-2) and on the Alluvial <br />Valley Floor Identification Map (Exhibit 2) from the April <br />14, 1981 application. The greatest upstream extent of this <br />alluvium is also shown on the above referenced Figure 3. <br />The rationale for terminating the unit at this point is <br />explained in Section 2.06.8(3) on Pages 108-109: <br />"(Main) Bolton Draw has an identifiable stream channel <br />and an active flood plain. T11e active flood plain, <br />which is mapped as Qal...is usually 100-200 feet wide <br />and consists of locally derived clay and silt ....... <br />-6- <br />
