i' In regard to vegetative cover sampling techniques, there are 10 points per transect with each transect representing one sample. Hits on vegetation, bare- ground, rock or litter are recorded at Sm intervals along a SOm transect. In determining percent cover for a vegetative community total hits by species for lifeform are divided by the grand total number of hits which results in relative cover estimates.
