Page 11
H-G Preliminary Adequacy Review

4,15.7(3)(b) A statistical comparison between the mine and reference
areas is necessary regardless of which values (mine or reference
area) are higher for vegetative sampling. There are also some
questions about the statistical analysis of the reference
areas. Please see enclosed memo from Mike Savage.
4.18 Protection of Fish, lildlife and Related Environmental Values
4.18 2 a) ~ This response may need to be changed if any of the plants that
were not fully identified in the vegetation baseline inventory
are identified as endangered or threatened species.
4.18 4 c It seems apparent from Exhibit 1 of the vegetation reference
area study and Exhibit Y-Mine Layout that natural riparian
habitat will be disturbed in the permit area. Since this
area has alraady been disturbed the appropriate response to
this section must address restoring and enhancing this community
and minimizing further disturbance.
4.18(4)(i)(i)(a) Please substantiate that the chosen plant species for
reve9etation have proven nutritional value for wildlife.
4.18(4)(i)(ii) / There is no response to this section. Please respond.
