The applicant should submit a narrative of land capability, before
mining, to support a variety of uses and productivity of the area, under high
levels of management in accordance with Rule 2.04.3(2)(b).
2. Figures 3.1-4 and 3.1-5 should be revised so as to distinguish which
disturbances associated with previous mining operations are strictly
disturbance to the surface, disturbance as a result of subsidence, and the
extent of the workings.
3. Surface disturbance resulting from previous mining should be described
in more detail.
Climatological Information and Air Resources Protection - Rules 2.04.8 and
~ nc c
1. On page 3-144 mention is made of mapping which was conducted during the
spring and summer of 1983. No map has been included in the permit
application. The mentioned map should be submitted.
2. The applicant should address what impacts to large mobile mammals,
mainly mule deer, may be expected from new haul road construction and use, and
increased traffic on the existing county road providing access to the mine
site. A characterization of mule deer movement patterns in and around the
proposed surface facility areas would be helpful in qualifying this potential
impact. In addition, appropriate mitigation measures (e.g. speed limits)
should be proposed.
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 Tel.
