<br />__ ..Th,e_eurfaoe_plant consista,of a Prams shaft house,
<br />17-1~2 x 48 ft, ,, containing a skip type head frame, made
<br />oY 10 _x 10'e 40_Pt._ high, provided with an automatio
<br />.::dump ,and a 60 in: .:iron. ahieve wheel. To the 847 of the
<br />shaft house, awing 26-1~2 x 40 ft, is built on, containing
<br />2, 80.x, P, horizontal ret. tubular boilers, using .Lutz
<br />mine water, carrying a pressure of 9U lbs., and, last in-
<br />apeeted on Pdarch 8th, 1904. Said bailers are fired with
<br />northern coal. To the south of the shaft house, a wing
<br />20 x 3b ft, is bl~ilt on, and known as the machine shop,
<br />containing lathe, drill and 6 drill Norwalk air compressor,
<br />.the latter being held in reserve. To the west of the
<br />shaft house, awing 20 x 40 ft. is built on, and used as
<br />a blacksmith shop., containing one large, two compartment
<br />Sorge, one_for machine and one for hand steel.
<br />26 ft, south of the shaft house, is located a
<br />building 36 x.42 ft., frame covered with elaterite, and
<br />~ known as the hoisting, or engine house; same contains
<br />~ one, double 12 x 14 friction oluto$ vulcan t
<br />ype, 100 H.P.
<br />hoisting engine, provided with a positive indicator, in
<br />plain view of .the engineer,. who perateq.the engine
<br />i at same. It contains also one oompoand.Leyner, B drill
<br />~ air compressor, oporated by a 76 H.P. motor; the eleotrio
<br />power being purchased from the United Light & Power Co „
<br />at Georgetovrn, Colo. The transformers whioh step down
<br />the ourrent, are also boated in this building.
<br />The working shaft, blacksmith shop and furnaoe room
<br />arc all under one roof, and proteotlon against fix•e is
<br />provided for by hose attachment to pump, oonneotad with
<br />10,000 gallon water tank.
