TABLE TWO -- LAS ANIMAS COUNTY <br />MINE NAME COMMENTS ON FEATURES <br />Rapson Reclamation scheduled for Spring of 1984. Install a concrete block wall inside the main <br />Nos. 1, 2 adit entry of the Rapson Mine. Collapse ad it no. 2 using a controlled blasting technique, <br />and backfill the subsidence pit using a graded-fill technique. Regrade and topsoil spoil <br />piles nos. 1 and 2. Revegetate disturbed areas. <br />Royal Royal Mine shaft reclamation: The backfilling operations were accomplished by first <br />placing larger diameter riprap into the bottom of each opening followed by coal waste <br />material to complete the fills. Work areas were ripped to alleviate compaction, and the <br />large backfilled area at the Royal Mine was covered with a 12" layer of topsoil. A large <br />spoil pile was completely used up in accomplishing the fill work. Revegetation work will <br />be completed during the Fall of 1983. <br />Rugby <br />Rugby (old) <br />Santa Fe No. 4 <br />Reclamation scheduled for Spring 1984. Collapse the two ad its at the Rugby Mine using <br />controlled blasting techniques. <br />Reclamation scheduled for Spring 1984: Backfill the three adits at the Old Rugby Mine <br />using a graded fill technique. Topsoil backfilled areas, regrade spoil pile, and <br />revegetate and fence disturbed areas. <br />Horizontal opening. Opening is 1' high, 10' wide, and more than 20' long.
