TABLE TWO -- LAS ANIMAS COUNTY <br />MINE NAME COMMENTS ON FEATURES _ _ <br /> <br />Colorado Reclamation scheduled for Spring 1984: backfill the three open inclines and subsided <br />Canyon portion of the air shaft entry at the Colorado Canon Mine using a graded fill technique. <br />(cont.) Remove the large waste pile from Rugby Canyon drainage and regrade to a stable configura- <br /> tion. Install a concrete block wall inside fan house opening in the air shaft. Topsoil <br /> all backfilled areas and regrade spoil pile areas. Rip compacted areas, and seed and <br /> fence disturbed areas. <br />Cuatro Reclamation scheduled for 1983: safeguard the Cuatro Mine ad it by installing a steel <br /> grate over the opening and maintaining the existing mine drainage. <br />Eli Jeffrey D: Water draining from about three mine ad its, just north of large mine dump. Water creates <br /> bog in drainage on north side of dump. Apparently the water is of good quality because <br /> ranchers use it to water cattle and because grasses thrive in and around bog. <br />Engleville *: Horizontal opening. Opening is 3' high, 6' wide, and more than 30' in length. No access <br />No. 2 deterrent. <br /> S: Two subsidence pits and one subsidence trough. The trough is 35'x80'x2' deep. One pit <br /> is 25'x30'x2' deep; the other is 40'x45'x2' deep. <br /> Proposed reclamation scheduled for 1983, of the Engleville Mine site: backfill the mine <br /> opening using a graded fill technique. Reduce spoil pile size and slopes by grading and <br /> distribution on site. Topsoil and revegetate contoured spoil piles. <br />Engleville No.3 *: Horizontal opening. Ad it is 3' high, 5' wide, and about 20' long. No access deterrent. <br />(Engle) S: Four subsidence pits. One pit is 45' across and 8' deep; the other is 15' across and <br /> 3' deep. These pits mark subsidence over a western ad it of the Engle Mine.
