TABLE TWO -- HUERFANO COUNTY <br />MINE NAME COMMENTS ON FEATURES <br />Major No. 1 In Spring 1983 an air shaft and open incline were backfilled using riprap and spoil <br />(cont.) material from an adjacent waste pile. A deteriorated fan hou se which bridged the open <br /> shaft had to be removed. The spoil p ile was regraded and the two backfilled areas were <br /> covered with a 12" layer of topsoil. Will be fenced in fall of 1983. <br />Major No. 2 +; Section location differs between refe rence one and two. <br />Major No. 3 D: Bob Kirkham (Personal Communication, 1983) notes that Ojo de Alamo Creek is eroding the <br /> tailings pile and contributing alkali material to the creek. <br />Backfill the two vertical shafts, unlined inclines ,and open ad it at the Major ~3 Mine <br />using a graded fill technique. Regrade borrowed waste pile areas and topsoil both the <br />backfilled areas and regraded waste piles. Seed all disturbed areas with <br />McNally Z: Production from Cameron and Walsen beds (reference 2). <br />*: Two vertical openings. Main shaft is pit 25' across and 20' deep. Air shaft is hole 10' <br />across and 50' deep. No access deterrents. <br />Morning Glory See Carbonado Mine, Table Two. <br />Mutual *: Two vertical openings.
