The iron or metal tamping bars are not used <br />but the wooden Camping bars are provided for <br />tae employes. Explosives in excess of one <br />day's nse are not stored underground, they are <br />are stored in a magazine built for that purpose <br />alone, this magazine is 350 feet: Not'th of the <br />shaft and engine room. The amount of explosives <br />kept. in e~Corage is 500 ~. The magazine is a <br />small tunnerl. lined with wood. The mine is <br />pro¢-tded with a devide for the thawing of <br />powder. T~iis is a small wooden lnztldfng heated by <br />steam. ~ combustibles are all stored in the <br />engine room. Oils candles etc., are not <br />stomed'tirith the powder. <br /> <br />1. ! <br />
