All old timbers have been removed from under- <br />ground workings. <br />The shaft is divided into two compartments, and <br />is provided with a,good 1ad'der-way, and the'same is <br />secure, Rafe and accessible, it does not contain steam, <br />water or air pipes or boxes. Landings are provides in <br />ladder-way not to exceed 20 feet apart-,part of the way, <br />and win2es or man-ways are connected. with the levels, <br />and et least ane man-way is kept in repa~:r and equipped <br />.with ladders.
