furnished ample water far all purposes. <br />GEOLOGY. <br />This property covers the entire geoligical series from <br />the l4eber Grits dawn to the Granite. <br />Emmon's Geologiasl Survey of the dietriat has proven to <br />be quite correct and shows the formation commencing at the <br />granite and ascending to be ae follows: <br />"Granite", "Cambrian Quartzite","Silurian White Lime Stone", <br />"Devonian Pant~gg Quartzite", "Carboniferous ISime Stone", <br />"White Parphyry and Weber Grits". <br />In many places there ooour sheets and sills of intrusive <br />porphyry, locally known ae the grey porphyry. <br />The district is out by a number Qf more or less parallel <br />step faults. These faults have a strike in a northerly and <br />southerly direotion and dip at various angles in bath an <br />easterly and westerly dieection. <br />VEIN OR ORE OCCURANCE. <br />I' <br />~ The ore in the St. Louie occurs in a fissure vein and at <br />the function of the fissure vein with the oontact betwoon the <br />!Vlhite Porphyry and Blue Limestone. <br />The vein strikes moutherly and eouthoriy and has a dip of <br />~~ 72 degrees fram the horizontal. It has been opsneu rar a <br />distanoe oP four hundred Poet in longth and about 800 feet <br />in hoight and has an average width of three feet. The ore <br />at or near the Whito Porphyry-Blue LSmeOontsat take on the <br />farm of a regular aontnat dopoeit and the fissure le lase <br />aonepiououe. <br />CHARACTER ANU GRADE OP ORE. <br />Tha ore minod from the contaot doposit was the ahnraotor- <br />ietia oarbonato ore of the Leadville DSetrioV consisting of <br />carbonates and oxides oP, lead zino, Iran nnct Magganese <br />ooouring in a Limestone gangue. The ore found in the fissure <br />Lo me4allia gold, ooouring in a quartz gnniale in tho shape of <br />iflake and wire geld. <br />The oro produood Prom the aontaot deposit at the presont <br />time is a Zino Carbonate oro and averagos nbout 28 par aunt <br />-r <br />j; <br />
