No iron or metal tamping bare <br />are employed, wooden ones i~eing provided for employees. No powder <br />monkey is employed. Explosives are stored ie a magazine, provided <br />for that purpose alone, which is a dug out, lined with wood and <br />i4 <br />'~ covered with dirt and rock, and is situate about 360 feet north- <br />~; <br />west of L•he L•oarding house. The averago amount of explosives kept <br />~' iri storage is about one ton. <br />j For thawing powder they have the same character of building <br />~', as s magazine, heated with a small stove. <br />
