<br /> transporation purposes, cutting• numerous veins, among
<br /> which may be mentioned the Gem, at a distance of 7750 ft,
<br /> the Sun & Pdoon, at a distance of ft. from the mouth of
<br /> the tunnel,
<br /> The tunnel is being driven by two, 3 in, water T~eynert~
<br /> on oolumna, which consume one shift oi' 8 hours, to put
<br /> in a round of 19 holes, the other two shifts being talcen
<br /> up by powder,and mucking gangs, an average progress of 8 ft,
<br />1-1~8 in. per day being made in the tunnel.
