MINING qND MINE METHODS. <br /> .The main opening is an edit, or tunnel, the mouth <br /> of v/hich, is on the north side of the gulch, about 150 Pt. <br /> north of the road, and having an elevation of 8060 ft. <br /> The tunnel is 8 x 8 in the clear, and extends N. 45 <br /> degrees {7. 900 ft, to breast, the first 125 ft. of which, <br /> is timbered v/ith tunnel seta. <br /> At a point 100 ft. from the mouth, a vein is cut, <br /> same being described before, on v/hich adrift is run to <br /> the east, 75 ft, to breast, and on which a raise is driven <br /> to the surface, on the west side of tunnel. <br /> At the present time, work is being carried on, <br /> in widening out the tunnel at points where same is narrow, <br /> in timbering for station and sinking a wipze, on vein jest <br /> east of tunnel, and driving• drift east. <br /> No other work is being• carried on in the immediate <br /> vicinity. <br /> The tunnel is driven by two, 3-1~4 in., and two, <br /> little giant Rand drills, the other vrark being done by hand <br />•elatine, drilling, both single and double. <br /> The ordinary pine timber prepared by hand is employed <br />zinc, set in timbering. <br />el.
