<br />During the past year we h¢ve steadily pushed No. 7 level and other Sevelopment work under tho geu• <br />m•al plmr of oponing-the IIcnrietta at great depth anS insuring sufaty and continnone operation during the <br />winter months. <br />The development work on the mining claims consists of about ouc mile of underground workings. <br />'1'ho principal tuunela are: <br />No. 1- 305 feet in depth. <br />No. 2- G00 feet in depth. <br />No. 3- 802 fcch in deptL. <br />No. 7-2000 feet in depth. <br />No. 10- 300 feet in depth. <br />Levels Nos. 1, 2 and 3 are all connected with upraises, each nprnise ]roving heavily timbered and lined ore <br />chutee and ladder ways. <br />The former records of this section of the mine give a complete record of hind and quantities of ore <br />lonnd iu these levels. <br />After due considerntiou the concludes to do the most oP our work on the No. 7 level which would open <br />up the ore bodies 400 feet lower thmr the deepest workings in No. 3. We have worked night and day for <br />the past Tifteen months and have completes 2000 feet o£ work on this level alone. The results have proven <br />very satisfnetory. After driving 615 feet w•e enconntercd a very ]urge vein of quartz rumting nt nenely <br />right angles to the course of tunnel and carrying gold, silver and leas. 1Ve coutiuues cross-cutting this <br />vein fox 11U feet. At mre place we SriPteS on the vein Pm• 85 feet mul found Lhe same character of oro <br />throughout, proving it to contain muesivo bodies of ore. 'phis we caller the Surprise vein, ae it was so cov- <br />erer with debris and forest tiuther ott the surface that it huS never been discovered. Since our discovery <br />'phe Mammoth Tunnol Company has oponed this emus vein nbeuC ouc-half milo farther north. <br />Continuing No. 7 lovcl to a distnnco of 1115 YeeC, tvo out rho Hmu•icttn vein and ut this point it was <br />20 feet in width, containing mostly milling m•e bah some escepCionnlly fine snmlting ore. <br />At 1416 feet we enconntm•es a body of snmlCiug oro, 1'ran two to Tour feet in lhiclcness nnS 1G0 feet iu <br />]mrgWt accompanying the milling ore. 'phis body of ora is n now flnS. 16 is located sumo 200 feat north <br />oP any ore body found in No. 2 ]ovcl, Aftor passing through this ora bony u•e had milling ore for about <br />100 feet in longth whoa wo ancounterad n bony of 3 to 5 EeoC in thickness of vary heavy emaltiug oro.
