' <br />HI STORY. <br />Date oP original looation 1580, reopened in 1896. <br />T O P O GRAPH Y. <br />This mine is located on a rough mountain with some tim- <br />ber, at an aitltu de of 11,500 Peet. A small stream <br />called Congress Creek Plows near the mine, which f11~liiehes <br />the water supply. A wagon road connects the mine with the <br />railroad. <br />G E O L 0 6 Y. <br />A good geological survey has been made of this district. <br />The character of the country rook is Andesite. <br />O R E S ~A N D O R E B O D I E S. <br />'The ore lies in beds, with strike North 20° East, with <br />~~ dip toward the southwest. The character of the vein filling <br />is sulphides of zinc, lead and copper. The ore chutes <br />-are 1n pockets. The character of enclosing wake is ande- <br />site. Ali of the ore is smelting ore.
