11 !,
Through shafts we are opening up the 1,750 Level, and up to this date have undercut
shout 300 ft. of milling ore., some of which is high grade.
The most encouraging feature of the year's work in this group is the result of our
development work in and from No. 123 P,aise in the Fraction Claim. This raise is intended as
a base fm• future operations in the upper portion of the 3line• For several months past the ore
found in this raise, and the levels driven from it, has been of good grade, and we are hopeful of
finding a continuous body of good ore to the surface workings of the P.ed Cloud Claim, which
are '1,000 ft. above our main levels.
For the proper development of this property, we are now engaged in installing a new
air compressor, which will be need in connection with our present large compressor in the
Tomboy engine room.
As soon as this work is done we will proceed to enlarge the Cincinnati Shaft, making it
a three-compartment shaft; and when enlarged to the 1,750 Level, will proceed with shaft
sinking. For this purpose we are well supplied with hoisting engines, and have in readiness a
pair of small air compressors, whose work will be limited to shaft sinking and drifting in the,
vicinity of the shaft.
TriE MOUNTA[N Gft1EF.
`Phis claim, which contains the western extension of the Tomboy-Belmont Srein, was
acquired by purchase on June 10th. Development work was commenced immediately on
obtaining possession. Considerable ore of a milling grade has already been opened up, and I
consider the prospects for finding a Mine on this claim as most encouraging.
TI[E ELDORADO AND COLUMBIA-MENONA GROUPS.
Vi'e surrendered our options on these three properties at the beginning of the winter
Some good ore was found, but not in sufficieni quantities to warrant their purchase.
MINE DEVELOPMENT WORK.
Car development work for the year is shown in the following statement :-
Drifts.
