The gradual decrease in the value of the ore, compelled us io
look to the Arganthre Feiu for urilling ore, and at the close of September we ceased unerations
in this property. In ~Ia.' of this year; we began crushing a„~ain on a email scale; and ne
aspect uo obtain more or less vrs from this vein daring ti!e summer months, while our water
suuply is ample.
There is still a care large tonnage of ore blocked out in the Tomboy workings, Lut its
value does not allow us to obtain a profit from it at the present cost of operation. Beueut im-
provements and wvrl.- now undar wac mill, we think, sv reduce operating expenses that we eau,
in another year, arrange fur the operation of this property.
TtiE ARGENTINE GROUP.
Our energies the past year have been chiefly confined to the development of ibis group.
cousisLing of theLampa, Cineinuati, Argeuk~iue \o. 1, fugentine No. 2, Fraction and Eed Cloud
Claims, aggregating more than a rude iu length. At the three of my last report we had opeued
up Iwo ore-buciies un the main Argentine Level, no~v called the -1;500 Level. During 'tile y~em•
this level has been extended to a pohrt, half way through the l.ed Cloud Claim, and has nrored
the existence of three more ore-liodiee. The Cincinnati level, now known as the 1,f,5U Level,
has peen estendecf into the fraction Clainr, proving the continuation of the two ore-botiios first
opeued up ou the 1,500 Level, and in addition thexeio, has disclosed about 700 ft. of pay ground
in territory where there were no values uu the 1,500 Level.
"'
~i
~s
