__~, , ~
_' i .C fi
1 THE MINES.
Particulars of the mining and milling operations, and of developments, will
be formd in Mr. Hnrr:or's report. A tabular statement of returns is appended for
the period under review. From this it will he seen that 83;437 tons of ore have
been milled, yielding bullion to the value of ~;731,GG1, or an average of X6.67 per
~?t ton, at a cost of .~463,pi33, or an average of ~i5.87 per ton, resulting in a profit
of X348,038, or an average of ~~3.00 per ton. Uf this ore alI but 9,156 tons came
from the Argentine property.
Tomboy Group.-The ore remaining iu the lower levels of this propert}•
being too low in grade to warrant extraction at the present time, these workings
have been filled with water, which can be drawn on fn ease of any interruption to
the supply from Lake Ptarmigan. 9 few tributors have been put to work in the
upper old workings, and the ore thus obtained, to the amount of 7.,374 tons, passed
throu;;h the old Tomboy Mill.
Argentine Group.-As will be seen from Mr. gEBR9N'S report, developments
in this ~~roup have been very satisfactor}'. The 3,853 ft. driven, raised and sunk,
opened up lar;,re bodies of ore. Of the total of 82,437 tons treated during the ~•ear,
73,261 tons came from this property.
Mountain Chief.-`.Chic property, the :most recent acquisition of the Company,
adjoins the Tomboy Group on the west, and the vein formerly worked by this
Company passes thx•ongh it. Good ore was found in the old surface workings, but
the inaccessible position of these prevented proper development. `1'he long cross-
cut to the vein on the Tomboy GOO ft. Level strikes w7thin a few feet of the
ZVlountain Ohief boundary line, and the facility thus afforded for development made
the property a desirable parohase to this Company.
"~.~
~:
,~e
''
Report
abandon
Red Cl.
noted tl
3rd Noz
1st Sept
7
the mar
year by
l
Associa
T
4, Lotk
Auditor
11, C
