i <br />- GEOLOGY. <br />The only geological survey of the district is a partial . <br />one, oontained in the "Geologioal Exploration of the Fortieth <br />Parallell", by Clarence King, 1870. <br />The country rock may be generally described as a gneissic, or <br />a Company banded granite, having somtimea s distinctly granitic ohar- <br />h a <br />ch) aoter. T,he vein shows little indioation o3 having filled a <br />lorado. <br />fissure, as usually understood; but follows the cleavage <br />'C.Baodg, fointa, and in some cases, the foliation planes of the gneiss, <br />sden, and replace the country rock on each side of them.
