Encouraged by the disclosures of imnnense bodies. of silver-lead
and gold-silver quartz ores in an a.dit level 320 feet deep on the Augusta
.Je=, n, the Augusta company has been engaged all year in drivir_g a cross-cut
tunnel from the Povertz* gulch slope that will cn2t the lead at a vertical
uept?r of 1350 feet. Th.s worb.ing is norc 1960 feet cr. its way and should
reach the ore early ir. the cor:ir_g year. A tramway and r!nili}ng plants have

at a de~th of 1100 feet and seve>'al hundred feet were driven during the
year. 11o production has been made.
