Should the vein con-
tinue as at present explored, tae company t+'itl own over 3,00o feet of it, ana when nne considers its
resemblance to the Freeland, and the fact that it is all virgin ground, it wotdd'nor seem over-san-
guine to anticipate that fLis mine will prove to be one of the company's best properties. At present
it is being worked through across-cut from the Freeland level of the Freeland mine, and will
be affected by the tunnel tUe same as'the Freeland and the Toledo.
THE BUSH AND DICKEY.
The Bush and the Dickey also adjoin the Freeland, and o otoo in the last rivo years, the Split
~ _ _. vein, from which lessees are reported to Uave taken over $5
THE OTHER PROPERTIES OF THE COMPANY.
The Toledo Extension, Toledo Side, Lace County, Maid of the Mist, Senorita, El Capi
taine and Gladstone adjoin the Freelands, Toledo and St. Patrick, and aside from their prospect
ive value owing to this district having many parallel veins, they are very valuable in protecting
the apex rights of the other properties of the company.
So far, there has been comparatively little prospecting on these claims, except the necessar;
patent work. They all show good, strong veins, however, and promise well with development
~,~„~;,~,;: ~ r,,,.,,~ The other properties of the company are not patented, with the exception of the Fal
Extension, Falu No. 2 and Falu No. 3, and are located in such manner as to protect all of th
rights of the tunnel, which will pass through the entire territory. So far, there has not bee
sufficient developmenhwodc done on these claims to open up any large ore bodies, bttt as the
are traversed by many veins and dykes, as is shown by the outcroppings, it ~is the belief of tl'
management that long before the tuvocl reaches the Freeland many other valuable mines wi
be opened up.. The company expects to patent thb remainder of these properties at once.
THE NIcCLELLAND TUNNEL,
Unexcelled Facilities for Handling Ore. AWell-Planned Enterprise.
The tunnel consists of six tunnel locations, aggregating r8,ooo feel, starting in Clear Cre~
valley, 2q8 feet from the main lice of the Colorado & Southern Railroad, and 456 feet frmn Cle
Creek, which is 64 feet lower than the mouth of the tunnel. The company.also ,owns a tar
acreage at the mouth of the funnel for dumping ground, and has started sufficiently high
enable an automatic concentrating mill at the month of the huvml to place its ore directly aC t
railroad. •
WHERE THE The trwuel, which is now befog driven, fs projected directly towards I
MONEY Freeland•Toledp group, and will reach them ou the dip of their veins in aU~
5 MA013 S,roo feel, ctttfiug them at a depth from the surface of from r,lioo to 3,300 (e
acconliug to the coutoux of the ground, the company's engineer estimating that the tunnel v
tap the pay shoot of the Freeland r,3oo feet below the lowest workings, and tite Toledo ab
r,8oo feet. With the values continuing to that depth (and the grenC Newhouse Titunel is
scone district has demonstrated that they do), the amount of ore fn sight when the tonne
completed ahottld bC almost beyond cowputation,
