Revegetation is sparse in the topsoiled portion of the West Ridge area, <br />southwest of the West Ridge Road. The non-topsoiled part of the West Ridge area is densely <br />covered with alfalfa, although growth is not as lush as last spring due to dry conditions. Cover is good <br />on the reclaimed slopes along the Goat Trail. <br />Weeds. Weed control is needed on the reclaimed slopes along the Goat Trail where there are <br />patches of Whitetop (Hoary cress). <br />SLIDES AND DAMAGE <br />Slopes appeared stable throughout the site. No slope instability is evident on the hillslope above Oak <br />Creek . We walked the Goat Trail to check for erosional stability (and vegetative cover). No erosion <br />problems were found. <br />No new settlement is evident on the settlement crack in the soil that extends a few hundred feet along <br />the west side of North Road in the former highwall area of the final Moffat pit. <br />4 <br />
