y `.
• Rated fire doors throughout the site structures were assumed [o contain
asbestos in internal linings.
• Electrical wiring or transformers may contain ACM products.
During this Survey, a total of 13 samples of gasket materials were collected throughout
the site (including in areas of 1980's construction). Eleven of the sampled gasket
materials (84 percent of gaskets sampled) contained asbestos in concentrations greater
dt\ 1 percent. The typical asbestos content of the sampled gasket materials was 65 to
85 percent. These gaskets were both friable and non friable.
A total of 20 samples of window caulking/putty materials were collected throughout
the site. Eight of the sampled window materials (40 percent of sampled materials)
contained asbestos in concentrations greater than one percent. The typical asbestos
content of the sampled window materials was two to six percent. All observed window
caulking/putty materials were non-friable.
5. SummaryiahlesandAppendit:es
Appendix A contains a Building Information Table that summarizes the number of
samples and the number of confirmed ACMs at each structure or azea. This table also
identifies the acronym used for each structure of area, which was incorporated into the
sample numbering system identified in the laboratory reports. Appendix B includes
Tables of Findings that also utilize the building acronyms in the sampled material
summaries. For example, the Machine Shop samples aze prefixed with the letters MS.
Following the building prefix, samples are described using an acronym for the type of
homogeneous material. An example would be PI for pipe insulation. The Findings
Table in Appendix B summarize the identified suspect and confirmed ACM
homogeneous materials. Laboratory results sheets are provided in Appendix C and
Photographs are attached in Appendix D.
6. ACM Condition
Identified ACMs were found to be in generally good and intact condition. Damaged
pipe insulation, debris and associated contaminated soils were observed in localized
areas of the Finish Mill and Boiler House areas. Localized damage to pipe insulation
in the Plant Office and Quarry Shop were also observed.
Ashestos Containing
Materials Survey
4629 North Overland Trail
La Porte, Colorado
two ma~aoi ~m.amismi.doewrw-~.uvpa.~aneaam w.s/~m~•...i~iroozeoc
