D. Item M. Miscellaneous Reclamation Costs
Currently our pumping electrical bills are approximately $1,000.00 a month.
The pump itself can be purchased for approximately $15,000.00. I would
therefore not expect the pumping costs to be spread over more than 30 days. As
a basis for the 30 day cost, $ 5,000.00 for de-watering should be quite
adequate.
E. Item M Seeding and Planting
We make reference to a memorandum from the Division dated March 3, 1982 from
James M. McArdle, Reclamation Specialist. In this letter they suggest various
trees and shrubs under Item 5 of the letter. The staff suggests that a mixture
of the following trees and shrubs be randomly planted. Our engineer, Nelson
Engineering, obligingly concurred with that recommendation which was
incorporated into a reclamation plan. Your method of calculations does not
meet the intent, and therefore this should be re-analyzed for both reclamation
purposes as well as bonding criteria. We intend to re-address this issue and
will produce an overall landscaping plan that is more consistent with the
property and the native vegetation. We therefore would request this amount be
reduced substantially until we can provide you with an acceptable alternative.
I would be very happy to meet with you in the near future to show you the
progress that we are making in our rehabilitation, and would also like to
finalize an amount for the bond before its anniversary date.
I would appreciate hearing from you in the near future.
Sincerely,
Siegrist Construction Co.
RalS~rE~ Est
President
RLS/ds
File: CDMG.ADL
