III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during the
inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the facts or
evidence supporting the enforcement action.
The inspection was conducted pursuant to WFC's bond release application received by
the DRMS on August 14, 2007. During the inspection, each abandoned exploration hole
site was located with a GPS unit (Garmin GPS map60CSX) for positive identification of
the correct location. The results of the inspection aze described below.
Since no roads were constructed the inspection of the abandoned holes was limited to the
immediate area of the drill pads only. All exploration holes were accessed from pre-
existingroads. The drill pad disturbance areas were minimal and all sites were well
reclaimed. There was evidence of raked out drill cuttings and in some instances
bentonite chips remaining at the surface. However, the ground was level and stable at all
locations and no erosion or areas of concern were identified. All borehole abandonments
were well mazked and the surrounding azeas were seeded with the approved seed mixture.
Vegetation is becoming reestablished at all of the drill-hole sites.
Based on this inspection, it was determined that all of the exploration holes drilled under
NOI X-2006-142-09 were properly abandoned and the drill sites were adequately
reclaimed. All thirty fow reclaimed exploration drill sites remain stable. Inspection
photographs of representative exploration drill hole abandonment sites in the Third Park
azea are provided at the end of this inspection report.
