III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made
during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the
inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
the bedroom above. On the outside wall of the east facing porch there was extensive
damage down this wall from water erosion of the adobe. The porch is ov~arhung by the
bedroom so it appears that the water that caused this damage came from the inside of
the overhanging bedroom. No cracks were noted in the foundation below the water
damage.
The pasture south of the residence was walked and no subsidence evidence was
found. The railroad tracks were inspected and no dips or undulations were noted.
Additional reports. Additional reports from this inspection are expected from Jim
Pendleton and Kewal K. Kolai.
A water level measurement was taken at the Tatum windmill well. Water was
measured at 107.55 feet below top of casing. The pump string pipe, that: was pulled
from the well in March, was observed to be stained a brighter yellow color on the
lower 3 sections. The stain changed from yellowish to orange at a level 9.3 feet from
the bottom of pipe section #7. Above the color transition the pipe appeared to be
more corroded and have a greater number of corrosion carbuncles. This level
corresponds to 113.7 feet below the top of the casing. The water level in the well as
measured during this inspection was 6.2 feet higher than this level. The lowest water
level that was measured in this well was 114 feet, measured in February 1994 or 0.3
feet below the level of the color transition.
