Condition of Condition of At least
Outfall Pond Estimated discharge embankmeats and 60~s
discharge structure insloyea cayacity 7
CDPS Permit CO-0036684:
OOlA Tipple <100 gpm Good Good Yes
The lower part of ditch D-3 has been reconstructed to direct flow away
from the expansion of the low-quality coal stockpile that was approved in
MR-181.
Immediately before the inspection I measured the electroconductivity (EC)
at four locations in Trout Creek. The measurements were made from county
road bridges during a two-hour period. As shown on the following map, the
EC downstream from the mine was 650 micromhos/cm, significantly below the
material damage suspect level of 1,000 micromhos/cm. Coal mines were not
causing an unacceptable cumulative impact to Trout Creek.
Support Facilities
No problems were found in the following areas: yard area, explosives
magazine, belt-outback, million gallon tank, hazardous materials storage
area, and Fish Creek Tipple.
Revegetation
Weed spraying continues. Large (musk?) thistle needs more attention in
the area extending from pond F to pond G.
Subsidence
No structures or renewable resource lands were undermined in the last
month. The ponded areas have dryed out along Fish Creek over panel 13
where the longwall passed through in Spring 2002. Water is now confined
to the channel of Fish Creek.
4
