-~ ..- ,
MINE ID f OR PROSPECTING ID ~
INSPECTION DATE 4 6 94
(Page 3)
M-85-212
S INITIALS ACS
for the new processing building if approved by the county. The reclama ion tasks for Site
E will be ripping and revegetation of 2 level acres (approx. 400' x 200').
Site F is an active quarry area. There is = 500' of 10' high quarry fac to be back-filled
with waste rock and fines piled and scattered around the quarry floor. There is 6 acres
to be graded and revegetated. Total earthmoving is estimated to be 6000 cubic yards with an
average push distance of 100 feet. A small area near the top of Site F ae been graded and
seeded.
Sites G and H have, for the moat part, been reclaimed; with back-fil ing and grading in
accordance with the approved plan. The Division will need sufficient bo for re-seeding in
these areas until adequate vegetation has established. Small areas at both quarries have
small areas left open for possible future removal of large sandstone bl cks, and a portion
of Site H remains open for access to fossil animal tracks that have bee found there.
Site J ie a new quarry opened by the operator and added as affected la d by the amendment
within the pre-existing permit boundaries. Site J includes an equipment pallet, and atone
block storage area to the west of the ridge, and an = 800' x 400' activ quarry area. For
reclamation, approximately 15,000 cubic yards of waste rock and fines wi 1 have to be moved
in the quarry for back-filling and grading, with an average push diet nce of 100'. The
entire 9.41 acres will require revegetation.
Site K ie being added ae affected land by the amendment. The operato~ has levelled the
historically disturbed area, and may construct the new processing bui ding at this site
depending on county approval. The reclamation tasks for this site would a ripping of a 600'
x 200' level area, and revegetation.
Site L is being added ae affected land by the amendment and is proposed fbr use ae a storage
area. The reclamation for this site includes ripping a 600' x 15 level area, and
revegetation.
Site M ie being added as affected land by the amendment. This area may be a future source
of large blocks suitable for processing. Reclamation of this site would a dependent on the
degree of quarrying done by the operator in this area of historical dis urbance, but it is
estimated that at least 3000 cubic yards of material would have to be mov d for back-filling
and grading. There ie a historic rubble pile associated with Site M th t extends down the
steep elope to the south of the quarry into the draw where the road is ocated.
A summary of the reclamation tasks required, and to be included in the Div sion's reclamation
cost analyses, would be 1) mobilization and demobilization of a CAT DB do er, 2) grading and
back-filling, primarily in Sites B, D, F, J, and M - for a total volume t be moved of 37,000
cubic yards with an average push distance of 100 feet, 3) light ripping in Sites E, K, and
L of 290,000 square feet with an average ripping pass length of 500 feet, 4) revegetation of
43.25 acres. These tasks will be incorporated into the estimate which ill be sent to the
operator under separate cover.
I & E Contact Address
NAME
OPERA
STREE
CITY/
cc:
Mount, DMG
