III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made
during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection
and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
General Comments
This was an aerial inspection of the Munger Canyon Mine. The site was flown on 8/28/07 and 5 digital image
oblique and near vertical photos were taken by Harry Ranney of DRMS. The images were viewed by Dan
Mathews of DRMS on 8/30/07. The following observations were made based on review of Images 0201 through
0205.
General site conditions appear to have changed little since the site inspection of 8/16/07.
The "Quick-guard" cover crop still does not provide appreciable ground cover.
Work appeared to be underway on abatement of NOV CV-2007-003; two human figures were evident in
a couple of the images of the portal bench area, in the immediate vicinity of the SAE silt fences adjacent
to Permanent Channel "H". Also, it appeared that a water bar had been constructed to direct flow of a
small ephemeral drainage into Channel "H", near the upper end of the lower riprapped segment, as
directed in the NOV.
3
