Our records indicate that this site is not properly
permitted aad may not even belong to the county. Further research
is taking place in determini$g the ro er owner of this pit and the
relationship with the County. The ourth it apparently is located Ui1~}'S~v
near the small village of San Acacio west of San Luis. And we ~
discovered a number of permitting problems at this site. ~jf/~I
r ~SS~
At this present time the County Commissioners would ask the
Colorado Mine and Land Reclamation Board to continue the matters
involving Costilla Couaty until their neat Soard Meeting. Sy that
time the State of Colorado should have returned to the county its
records for the previous administrative yeazs. The Commissioners
would ask for this continuance in good faith and not as a ploy to
delay or prejudice any party.
As you know I have kept in regular contact with you and with
permission of your Board and would like to continue to develop a
more comprehensive approach to the current problems existing in
Costilla County and their gravel pit operations.
Your immediate attention to these matters is appreciated.
Sincerely,
Victor C.
